Periodontics
Periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile – it
can cause loss of teeth and eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems.
Called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive
toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack your mouth’s soft tissues. Early
warning signs of this disease include red, swollen, bleeding gums.
If caught early,
we can help you reverse the damage. If detected late, we can use one of many effective
cosmetic dentistry procedures to restore your mouth to a healthy, beautiful state.

Tooth-Colored Fillings
Are you aware that the days when tooth ailments and cavities could only be treated with unsightly metal fillings are gone? Today, modern, tooth-colored fillings made of durable resin or porcelain can be bonded to your teeth for a stronger, more natural-looking effect. These revolutionary fillings are virtually undetectable and are easy to apply.
Preventative Dentistry
This includes our regular dental hygiene visits, sealants, mouthguards, and
patient/parent education. We place a high emphasis on sealants, which are effective in preventing
tooth decay on the biting surfaces of chewing teeth. This plastic coating,
which is clear or tooth colored, is applied to the deep pits and grooves.
This seals them in the areas where decay is most likely to begin.
At less that half the cost of conventional fillings, without anesthetic
or drilling, sealants are one of the most important preventative services
we have.

Continued research has linked gum disease to diabetes,
heart disease and
low birth weight in babies.
In an effort to rid your teeth of the plaque and tartar that causes gum
disease (gingivitis) and tooth decay, your dental care hygienist may
suggest a regime of care that requires more frequent visits.
Endodontic Therapy
With advanced and surprisingly comfortable endodontic therapy you have an alternative to tooth removal whereby you’ll retain full use of your natural teeth.
Endodontic therapy involves the removal of tissue from inside the tooth that has been damaged by trauma or infected by decay. After the pulp is removed, the pulp chamber and root canal system is cleaned, disinfected and sealed.
Once a root canal is completed, two other procedures are generally needed to complete the restoration of the tooth. These are done by the general dentist.
